However, to everyone’s surprise, Anu Malik has reportedly been approached to be a judge on Indian Idol 11. He will be joining Vishal Dadlani and Neha Kakkar, who is expected to return as judges on the show.
Singer Sona Mohapatra has slammed Sony TV and Indian Idol makers for considering Anu Malik to judge the upcoming season of the singing reality show. She expressed her disbelief in a series of tweets.
She wrote, “New York-based Danica D’Souza said that Anu Malik’s predatory behavior was commonplace during Indian Idol shoots and ‘higher-ups’ were aware of it but chose to turn a blind eye. (As per reports, this pervert has been re-instated by @sonytv ?).”

Indian Idol
Indian Idol is the Indian version of the Pop Idol format that airs on Sony Entertainment Television since 2004. It started airing in India with the first season in 2004–2005 and was followed by second (2005–2006), third (2007), fourth (2008–2009), fifth (2010) and sixth season (2012).
For the seventh and eighth seasons, Indian Idol Junior replaced the show before the original Indian Idol returned for 9th season in 2016. The 10th season in 2018 is going to be aired on Sony TV every weekend from 7 July 2018.
Indian Idol is one of the oldest running TV reality shows in India that aims to select the best voice in India through a music competition. The show is based on the popular British show, Pop Idol. Currently, the show has entered its 10th season. So, those who are willing to participate can apply for the auditions in two ways – either visit the audition venue or take part in the web auditions.
To participate in the web auditions, you need to download the sony liv app from your Google Play store or ios app store. After clicking on the Indian Idol banner, you will be redirected to the Smule app where you can record and submit your song. If you are selected in the web or ground auditions, you will be called to Mumbai to participate in further rounds of the show.

- The participant has to download the sony liv app first.
- After that, they have to click on the banner INDIAN IDOL JUMP THE QUEUE AUDITIONS 2019.
- You will be redirected to the play store after clicking that for downloading the Smule app.
- Download the Smule app to your device and Register on it.
- After completing the registration, click on INDIAN IDOL JUMP THE QUEUE banner.
- Now, you must choose a song from the playlist, record and submit the song in your voice.
- After the submission, you will get an option of pasting the link at Sonyliv registration page.
- Paste the link and fill up the registration form with all the appropriate details.
- You will be successfully registered to Indian Idol season 11.
Things Need to Remember for Indian Idol 2019 Season 11
- The age of the contestant must be between 15 to 30 years.
- The physical and mental health of the contestant must be okay and no criminal record must be in his name.
- The documents which are necessary are the passport, PAN card, ration card, aadhaar card, voter id card, etc.
- The audition song must be sung by the contestant with full voice clarity. No other members are allowed in the video other than the participant.
